Tips drawn from actual projects and programs

Below is a collection of tips drawn from our work with clients and vendors. This list reflects the areas where most attention is given in an outsourced program.

For Clients

These tips for program, project and vendor managers are listed in the order of our Outsourcing Lifecycle Phases. Click on the phase below to open up the related window.

For Vendors

  • When adopting a "selling style," remember that your prospective customer is not just a passive responder to that style. They make an active buying decision and when they are your customer, they will remember how you influenced their decision.
  • As a provider, be aware that your communication style creates an impression that influences how your client views and judges the performance of your work.
  • When clients experience a problem with your product or service, they will judge you not on the problem, but on how you respond and resolve it.
  • Chemistry is a more compelling criterion than "cool closing" in a sale. People like to buy from someone who understands them and talks to their needs and values.
